On October 27th, Dr. Teng Xu, from ExxonMobil visited national engineering laboratory of Methanol-to-olefins. He gave a lecture “MTO Catalyst and Catalysis Fundamentals” and had a discussion with the researchers of MTO-NEL.

Since 1990’s, ExxonMobil company have developed MTO technology. In the R&D during the past more than 10 years, beside the achievements in technology for industrial application, some progresses in fundamental study have been also made. Teng Xu’lecture give a brief account on the hydrocarbon pool mechanism of cage type SAPO-34 catalyzed MTO reaction and the fluxional acid sites during the adsorption and reaction.
